Our institute is becoming a movie star. There is a film set once a month or so. They occupy our nicest seminar room, called the "Ei" (egg) und keep you from passing where you want. I hope the university gets some money out of this. Although we here won't ever see a penny of it.
This time we were informed in advance for the first time. Apparently it's Oskar Roehler (a German director who made this very bad movie "die Unberuehrbare" ("the intouchable") a couple of years ago) making a movie of Houllebecq's "elementary particles". Did you ever read the book? If not you are lucky. It's very unpleasant. It's just some very bad so called philosophical thougths mixed up with pornography. He got quite famous for this. It's probabely because nobody dares nowadays to say how bad it is, because he is afraid to be called a prude.
So the best thing in the movie is probabely going to be our egg.
