Hundescheisse Award
That's how you should call the worst movie screened at the Berlin Film Festival. And this year's winner is... "Elementarteilchen" by Oskar Röhler. I never believed it was good, I just went to see it because it was partly shot at our institute. (For those of you who don't know the place, but happen to be so misfortunate to watch the movie: That fancy institute in Ireland is in fact the Physics institute of Humboldt University.)
Happily Röhler left out most of the pseudo intellectual blabla of Houllebecq, but still the story of the book is also very thin: the characters follow all cliches of a primitive Freudian and they are even very poorly adapted in the movie. Don't waste your money on this.
