Isfahan (aka Penrose) tiling
It's not a secret that they were much cleverer in the islamic world in the middle ages. They studied ancient mathematics, sciences and philosophy at the time where Europeans believed that the devil had a goat's foot. And concerning geometrical ornaments there is nothing that can compare to islamic arts. It's not so surprising that you find 500 years old Penrose tiling there.
Maybe they are just fooling us, and Iran has the atomic bomb since 200 years...
