Wies'n

I arrived yesterday evening at eleven in Munich. That is half an hour after the daily closing time of the Oktoberfest. As usual I caught an S-Bahn towards Leuchtenbergring. The train was packed. There was me, 3 French guys, two security officers and a load of brutally drunk folk with and without Lederhosen. In my coach two guys broke into a fight because one felt that the other was looking mean at him. A girl jammed up the door and almost spit at me when I tried to get out. At Leuchtenbergring two other security guards dragged an unconscious man out of the coach in front of mine. So apparently they need two security personnel per coach.
To be honest it was ... disgusting.
I have never understood why people would get drunk to this point. You feel horrible, you have a terrible hangover the next day and, really, it does not make you attractive: Their eyes drift uncontrollably around, there skin looks like they are about to drown, porous and spongy, and they smell, uaeh...

About

My name is Magdalena Luz. I grew up in Switzerland. I studied physics at Humboldt University Berlin, where I used to live in "Nordkapstrasse" (North Cape street). That's how this blog got its name. After a short intermezzo in Copenhagen, DK, I live now in the amazing city of Wuppertal. This is a place the wild, wild West of Germany, built on 7 hills, (which is really the only thing it has in common with Rome) It is populated by the strange species of homo germanicus occidens communis, also known as 'gemeiner Wessi'. And even with her it is light years away from ever being like Berlin.
